An access log is a text file containing a complete report on all the files accessed by your site visitors. All the files that were requested in one way or another shall be included, so when you have a PHP script application and a website visitor opens only the home page, for example, you might find a lot of files in the log. The reason is that there are things on the home page that are embedded - parts of other pages, graphics, and so on. All of these files will be listed in the access log, allowing you to get a detailed picture of the way your website functions. The info is in plain text format, so the logs are sometimes described as "raw data" as well. An access log shows the name of each and every requested file, the path to it, the date it was accessed, plus the user’s IP address, web browser and Operating System. More info, like the referrer website, is typically included as well. A log file could be processed by various desktop applications for statistical purposes as an addition to the web stats created by your hosting server.

account with us, you will have the option to activate or deactivate the generation of access logs with only a few mouse clicks from your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. You will find this function in the Access/Error Logs section, which you can access once you sign in. All it takes for our system to start generating logs is a click on the On button that you will see there. The feature can be activated individually for any Internet site regardless of whether it uses a domain or a subdomain and you shall find the complete list of all the hosts within that section. Any access log can be downloaded as a text file with simply a click and you can then view it manually or use some software on your laptop or computer. The log generation can be disabled by simply changing the On option to Off within the Logs section of your CP.
